Meet the Principal: Angela Owens

Principal Angela Owens brings 30 years of experience in education across elementary, middle, and high school settings to her role as principal of Truman Elementary School, where she is currently in her third year of leadership. Over the course of her career, she has served as a classroom teacher and administrator, gaining valuable insight into curriculum development, student support, and effective school leadership. Ms. Owens has both state-side and international experience, which has shaped her global perspective on education and her commitment to preparing scholars for success in a diverse and interconnected world. She is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment where all students are encouraged to reach their full potential. She believes in the power of strong relationships and works collaboratively with staff, families, and the community to support student achievement. Her leadership focuses on continuous improvement, high expectations, and creating opportunities for every scholar to grow both academically and socially.
