Students at Truman celebrated meeting iReady growth goals by participating in an indoor field day! Students got to complete robotics challenges, arts, crafts, play games, jump in a bouncy house and even play in a video game truck! Kids loved celebrating their successes together! The Hickman Mills C-1 School District (HMC-1) proudly honors two exceptional leaders who have shaped the South Kansas City community. The district’s Board of Education has voted to name two school buildings in recognition of Alvin Brooks and John Sharp, whose decades of service, advocacy, and leadership have left a lasting impact on students and families.

The Hickman Mills C-1 School District is fighting for accreditation from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), a fight the school district has been in for over a decade.
Superintendent Dr. Yaw Obeng says the district is now on track to end the fight, with its latest improved scores.
